On Thursday, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Lyons man following an investigation into an incident that occurred on Spencer Street in the Town of Lyons on June 10, 2026.
Michael Gilpin, 29, was arrested by deputies at approximately 4:00 p.m. while he was being held at the Wayne County Jail on unrelated charges. According to authorities, an investigation into the June dispute revealed that Gilpin, while allegedly aided by two other individuals, struck a victim multiple times, causing injury. He is also accused of choking the victim, tearing the victim’s shirt, and forcibly stealing a phone while the victim was attempting to call 911.
Gilpin faces charges of one count of Robbery in the Second Degree, two counts of Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, one count of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, one count of Assault in the Third Degree, and one count of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree.
He was held at the jail to await CAP arraignment.
