On Tuesday, the Waterloo Police Department arrested a 17-year-old Geneva resident following an investigation into alleged stalking and harassment.

The juvenile, whose name is being withheld due to their age, was arrested at approximately 5:30 p.m. and charged with Stalking in the Fourth Degree and Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree. Police said the charges stem from an incident that occurred earlier that day. Investigators allege the juvenile called the victim more than 350 times over the course of a single day.

According to police, the victim repeatedly told the juvenile to stop making contact, but the behavior allegedly continued. Authorities allege the juvenile also drove past the victim’s residence, contacted several members of the victim’s family, and had third parties contact the victim on their behalf.

Police said the repeated conduct allegedly caused material harm to the victim’s mental and emotional well-being.

The juvenile was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear before Seneca County Probation at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
