On Thursday, Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to State Route 14 in the Town of Starkey for a report of a single-vehicle accident.

An investigation revealed that 28-year-old Geordan Conyers of Dundee was traveling northbound when his vehicle exited the roadway and struck a guidewire. Deputies observed signs of intoxication on Conyers at the scene.

Conyers was transported to Schuyler Hospital by Yates County Ambulance, where he was placed under arrest. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (Common Law) and Moving From a Lane Unsafely.

Conyers submitted to a chemical test and was released with appearance tickets to appear in Starkey Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
