Driver Arrested For DWI After MVA in Williamson

On Friday, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Anna Ruth Thiel of Webster following a crash in the Town of Williamson.

Thiel was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated for operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.18% or higher, moving from a lane unsafely, and possession of an open container.

It is alleged that Thiel moved from her lane and crashed into two mailboxes and a utility pole on Klem Street. Upon further investigation, deputies determined she was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Thiel was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where she submitted to a chemical test that determined her blood alcohol content to be 0.23%.

Thiel was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Williamson Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
