The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Canandaigua man following a shoplifting complaint at a local department store.

On Friday, deputies responded to the Walmart on Recreation Drive in the Town of Canandaigua for a reported larceny. Following an investigation, it was determined that 40-year-old Christopher Carr allegedly selected $354.47 worth of merchandise and passed all points of sale without attempting to pay.

Carr was taken into custody and charged with Petit Larceny.

He was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge in Hopewell Town Court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
