The Village of Bath Police Department arrested a local woman following a disturbance at a Geneva Street apartment building.

On Thursday, officers responded to a report of a female shouting from the basement of a multi-family home. Upon arrival, Bath Police officers and members of the New York State Police located 29-year-old Shaylee Ridley inside the basement, where authorities say she did not reside and had entered unlawfully.

According to police, a tenant later reported hearing Ridley yelling before Ridley allegedly came up to the apartment door, kicked it in, and entered the residence. Ridley allegedly refused the tenant’s requests to leave before eventually being escorted out by the occupant.

Ridley was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.

She was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for Centralized Arraignment Part court, where she was subsequently released the following day.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
