An Auburn man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges following an investigation into a domestic violence incident that occurred earlier this month.

According to the Auburn Police Department, officers responded to a domestic violence complaint on June 4 on Genesee Street. Police said the victim reported that she had been involved in a verbal argument with her boyfriend, Anthony Daniels, in the downtown area.

During the dispute, Daniels allegedly punched the woman in the face, causing swelling and bruising, according to investigators.

Police said Daniels was arrested on June 15 after turning himself in to the Auburn Police Department for processing. Due to his history of domestic violence offenses, authorities charged him with felony Aggravated Family Offense and misdemeanor Assault in the Third Degree.

Daniels was arraigned and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
