A delivery driver was killed in Wolcott Monday night, according to state police.
Troopers report that the incident happened at approximately 8:30p when the driver of a 2025 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van pulled into the driveway of a residence on Eades Road to make a delivery. After stopping and exiting the vehicle to retrieve packages from the cargo area, the vehicle began rolling toward the residence.
Troopers say witnesses reported yelling to alert the driver. The driver tried to stop the vehicle but lost his footing and became pinned between the van and the residence’s porch support, suffering severe head injuries.
Bystanders moved the vehicle and rendered aid until emergency responders arrived. The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.
The residence sustained minor damage.
Police add that the investigation is ongoing.
