The Village of Waterloo is looking for residents interested in serving on a newly created Fire Commission that will help support and strengthen local fire services.

Village officials announced on Monday that applications are now being accepted for three volunteer positions on the commission. The board will play a role in helping shape the future of fire protection within the community.

Residents interested in serving are asked to submit a resume as part of the application process. Applications will be accepted through July 10.

According to the village, commissioners will serve three-year terms. To establish a staggered appointment system, the initial three commissioners will serve terms of one, two, and three years. After that, one commissioner will be appointed each year to a three-year term.

Meeting dates and times will be determined by the commissioners once they are appointed.

Village officials encouraged residents with an interest in fire safety, community service, and local government to apply.

Additional information on the application process is available through the Village of Waterloo.
