The Auburn Summer Music Lessons Program will not be offered this year due to funding challenges, according to an announcement from the Auburn Music Boosters.

In a message shared with the community, organizers said the program is being paused for the 2026 season because of unexpected funding shortages and rising operating costs.  The Auburn Music Boosters described the decision as a difficult one, noting that the program has provided summer music instruction for school-age students over the past three years.

“Without the necessary financial resources secured for this summer, we cannot provide the high-quality experience our students and teachers deserve,” the organization said.

Program leaders said rising costs forced them to make difficult fiscal decisions about future programming and ultimately led them to suspend this year’s lessons.

The organization plans to use the hiatus to reassess the program and develop a more sustainable financial foundation. Organizers expressed hope that the summer music program will return in 2027.

“Our goal is to return stronger, louder, and better than ever in 2027,” the Auburn Music Boosters said.

The group also thanked students, families, supporters, and community members for their continued support of music education in Auburn.
