Reports of the situation began to surface on social media around 7:00 a.m. and a call to the Thompson Hospital switchboard confirmed the lockdown. Eyewitness accounts indicate the presence of police and fire department personnel on the scene.
Official FB Thompson Statement:
We want to let the community know that F.F. Thompson Hospital is working an active threat to the exterior of the facility. We are working alongside Canandaigua Police Department and other law enforcement agencies to determine the validity of the threat. Access to the campus is restricted to associates only who will be screened upon entry. Overnight associates will be cleared to leave once their replacements have been screened.
