Paul Szmal is the Operations Manager for FLX Local Media's seven-station cluster (WGVA, WAUB, WFLR, WCGR, WFLK/K101.7, WLLW/101.7 The Wall, and WNYR/Mix 98.5) and morning host on 101.7 The Wall. He sets music programming, station imaging, and on-air talent direction across the group, and is the company's senior voice on format strategy and station identity.
Paul joined what was then Finger Lakes Radio Group in 2011 as Program Director for K101.7 (WFLK) before being promoted to Operations Manager for the full cluster. Earlier in his career he hosted in Cincinnati, Binghamton, and Syracuse — including a stint as Operations Manager for Galaxy Communications' Syracuse cluster — and has been the host and announcer for Outlaw Speedway events alongside Mel Thomas.
