The Finger Lakes Law Enforcement Academy celebrated its newest class of law enforcement officers Tuesday with a Badge Pinning Ceremony at Finger Lakes Community College.
The ceremony marked the completion of the recruits’ academy training and the beginning of the next phase of their careers as they move into field training with their respective agencies. Each graduate received a badge pinned by either the head of their agency or a family member serving in law enforcement.
Among those recognized were Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sheriffs Blayze Keefer and Kaleb VanDuyne, who officially began field training with the department.
The ceremony also included a special family moment as Seneca County Deputy Sheriff Zachary Nelson had the honor of pinning the badge on his cousin, Deputy Alexandria Moody, as she begins her career with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
