The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office is advising motorists to plan ahead and allow extra travel time this weekend as several major events are expected to bring heavy traffic to the area.

Officials say roadways throughout the county will be busier than normal due to the IRONMAN 70.3 Musselman triathlon, the Dierks Bentley concert at CMAC, along with community festivals, parades and other summer events.

Drivers traveling near the Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center are being warned to expect delays before and after the concert. CMAC parking lots will open at 3:30 p.m., gates will open at 5:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office is reminding motorists to watch for increased pedestrian traffic near the venue, follow posted traffic patterns, obey directions from law enforcement officers and traffic control personnel, and remain patient while traveling.

Officials encourage anyone attending an event or traveling through Ontario County this weekend to plan ahead and use extra caution to help keep roadways safe.
