Schuyler County Public Health and the Schuyler County Youth Bureau are inviting families with young children to take part in a free weekly Sensory Play Group at the Family Play and Resource Center in Montour Falls.
The program is held every Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. and is open to children from the crawling stage through pre-kindergarten. There is no cost to attend.
The July schedule includes several themed activities:
- Today: Obstacle Course
- July 14: Dinosaur Dig
- July 21: Water Day
- July 28: Finger Painting
Organizers say the play group alternates between high- and low-sensory activities each week. High-sensory sessions, held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, feature movement, textures, messy play, music and active exploration. Low-sensory sessions, offered on the second and fourth Tuesdays, focus on calm activities, soft textures, gentle sounds and quieter play options.
