Geneva General Hospital has received a three-year accreditation in computed tomography (CT) from the American College of Radiology, earning national recognition for the quality and safety of its diagnostic imaging services.
The accreditation, known as the ACR Gold Seal of Accreditation, is awarded to facilities that meet rigorous national standards for image quality, patient safety and clinical excellence. The designation follows a comprehensive peer review conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who evaluate image quality, staff qualifications, imaging equipment, quality control procedures and overall quality assurance programs.
CT scanning, also known as CAT scanning, is a noninvasive imaging test used to help physicians diagnose a wide range of medical conditions and guide treatment decisions.

“Accreditation from the American College of Radiology reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering the highest standards of care for our patients,” said Jeff Murad, director of diagnostics at Geneva General Hospital. “This recognition demonstrates the expertise of our imaging team and our continued investment in advanced technology and services that help ensure patients have access to exceptional care close to home.”
Hospital officials said the accreditation highlights Finger Lakes Health’s continued investment in expanding access to high-quality healthcare throughout the region. They said the designation gives patients added confidence that CT imaging exams are being performed according to nationally recognized standards for quality, accuracy and safety.
The American College of Radiology awards its Gold Seal of Accreditation only to facilities that successfully complete its voluntary accreditation program and demonstrate compliance with established practice parameters and technical standards.
