A driver suffered serious injuries in a crash involving three tractor-trailers on the Thruway.

The accident occurred just before 6 Friday morning at mile marker 345 in Farmington.

Troopers say one of the drivers was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The identities of the drivers involved or what led to the accident was not immediately known.

The accident shutdown the eastbound lanes of the Thruway between Exits 43 and 44 between 6 and 10:30 a.m.  The immediate area where the accident occurred was fully reopened to traffic late Friday afternoon.

We will continue to update this story as more information is made available.

10:25 a.m. UPDATE:
All eastbound lanes are now open except in the immediate vicinity of the accident, where cleanup operations are ongoing. Use caution in this area.

A crash involving at least one tractor-trailer has shut down the New York State Thruway (I-90) eastbound between Exit 44 (Canandaigua) and Exit 43 (Manchester).

The crash was first reported to authorities just before 6:00 a.m.  Eastbound traffic is being diverted off the Thruway at exit 45 (Rochester, I-490), and authorities say the closure is expected to last several hours while the incident cleanup and investigation continue.
