A Naples man has been arrested following a July incident in Canandaigua that left another man with life-threatening injuries.
The City of Canandaigua Police Department said 25-year-old Reese Cooper was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident involving serious physical injury.
Police allege that on July 5, Cooper was driving a truck recklessly in the City of Canandaigua when 25-year-old Thomas Galgano, also of Naples, fell from the bed of the truck and struck his head on the pavement.
Investigators say Cooper left the scene without contacting law enforcement or requesting emergency medical assistance.
According to police, Galgano suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, including skull fractures and internal swelling and hemorrhaging. Authorities said the injuries created a grave risk of death.
Cooper was processed without incident and transported to CAP Court for arraignment.
As with all criminal charges, the allegations are accusations, and Cooper is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
