The Seneca County Health Department is asking adults to share their opinions about a proposed change to New York’s vaccination record system.
New York maintains immunization records through the secure New York State Immunization Information System, known as NYSIIS. Adults can currently choose whether their vaccination records are included in the database.
The state is considering a change that would automatically include adult vaccination records. Before any change is made, local health officials are seeking feedback from residents age 19 and older.
The short survey asks participants about their experiences with vaccination records and their views on automatically including adult records in NYSIIS. Health officials said responses will remain confidential and will be combined with other submissions to help guide future public health planning.
The survey must be completed by September 1.
