Keuka College has earned national recognition for its undergraduate education for the 12th consecutive year, receiving designation as a 2026-27 College of Distinction.
In addition to the overall honor, the college was recognized in four specialized categories: Business, Education, Nursing, and as a New York Private College of Distinction.
College President Amy Storey said the continued recognition reflects the school’s emphasis on preparing students through hands-on learning.
“Receiving this recognition for the 12th consecutive year affirms what makes a Keuka College education distinctive,” Storey said. “Our faculty and staff create an environment where students don’t simply learn about their future careers—they begin living them. Through real-world experiences provided by our Field Period® program, nursing practicums, and internship placements, our students graduate with the confidence, skills, and professional experience to succeed from their very first day on the job.”
Colleges of Distinction evaluates institutions based on four key areas: student-centered education, teaching quality, community engagement, and successful post-graduate outcomes. Keuka College said its signature Field Period® program, undergraduate research opportunities, international study experiences, and close faculty mentorship helped earn the recognition.
Board of Trustees Chair Dr. Twyla J. Cummings said the honor reflects the college’s long-term commitment to innovation and student success.
“This recognition underscores the consistency and quality that have become hallmarks of a Keuka College education,” Cummings said. “Sustained excellence doesn’t happen by chance—it’s the result of an administration and faculty that continually invests in innovation, student support, and academic rigor.”
The college’s Business, Education, and Nursing programs were also recognized for combining classroom instruction with internships, clinical experiences, community engagement, and other practical learning opportunities.
Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer of Colleges of Distinction, said Keuka College prepares students to succeed in an increasingly complex world.
“Keuka College delivers the kind of intentional, high-impact education that equips students for whatever comes next,” Schritter said.
The annual Colleges of Distinction guide recognizes colleges and universities that demonstrate a strong commitment to innovative teaching, personalized learning, experiential education, student engagement, and career readiness.
