The East Bloomfield-Holcomb Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of its own.

In a social media post, the department announced the death of Lt. Alex Brown, remembering him as a dedicated first responder who served not only the fire department but also the local ambulance service and CES.

Department officials said Brown answered emergency calls whenever he could, day or night, and was always willing to help, whether responding to emergencies, mentoring newer members, or taking on routine tasks around the station, including washing ambulances after calls.

Brown served as both a lieutenant and driver and was remembered for his commitment to the community and his willingness to teach and support fellow firefighters and emergency medical personnel.

“As first responders it’s never easy to face loss, but when it’s one of our own brothers it’s a little bit harder,” the department wrote.

The department said Brown’s dedication, compassion, and service helped shape future firefighters and medics and left a lasting impact on the community.

“Alex leaves behind so many loved ones and he will never be forgotten,” the post said. “We are grateful for Alex for giving his heart and time to this town, grateful for his lessons shared and how he helped shape future firefighters and medics by his caring heart.”

No additional information about Brown’s death or funeral arrangements was immediately released.
