A former inmate at the Auburn Correctional Facility has been found guilty of the 2024 assault of a correction officer.
Cayuga County District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced that Quincy Lundy was convicted by a jury on Thursday of Assault in the Second Degree.
On March 3, 2024, Lundy punched a correction officer in the mess hall of Auburn Correctional Facility while the officer was attempting a pat frisk. The attack caused a fracture to the officer’s facial bones, according to the DA’s office.
At the time of the attack, Lundy was serving 25 years to life for a 2014 murder conviction from Onondaga County.
When sentenced for the assault on October 13, Lundy faces up to seven years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision. He will also be required to pay a $5,000 fine. By law, the sentence will run consecutively to his current one.
