A Dundee man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he assaulted six people at three different homes in the Town of Arcadia on Wednesday night.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were first called to a reported disturbance at a residence on Hydesville Road, where they found three victims who had been assaulted and required medical treatment. The suspect had fled the scene before deputies arrived.

While investigating that incident, deputies received a 911 call reporting another assault at a home on Tellier Road. When officers arrived, the suspect had again left the scene. Investigators say a victim at that residence suffered an arm injury after the suspect allegedly attempted to force his way into the home.

As deputies continued their investigation, they learned the suspect had entered a neighboring residence, where two additional occupants were also allegedly assaulted.

In total, six victims from three separate homes were taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained during the attacks.

Following the investigation, deputies arrested 34-year-old Jonathan Shearin of Dundee.

Shearin has been charged with five counts of first-degree burglary, one count of second-degree robbery, nine counts of second-degree assault, one count of third-degree assault, and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He was transported to the Wayne County Jail to await arraignment through the county’s Centralized Arraignment Part.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New York State Police, Newark Police Department, and Wayne County EMS.
