The Auburn Police Department is marking the nation’s 250th anniversary by outfitting officers with commemorative badges during the Independence Day holiday weekend.
In a social media post, the department announced that all officers will wear the special badges as the country celebrates 250 years of independence over the Fourth of July weekend.
The department said the badges are intended to demonstrate the officers’ patriotism while honoring the nation’s semiquincentennial.
The post concluded with a message wishing the community a happy Fourth of July, stating, “God Bless America and Happy 250 year.”
