The woman looking to become Cayuga County’s next clerk has picked up the support of six town supervisors.

The town supervisors of Aurelius, Springport, Throop, Victory, Montezuma, and Summerhill have endorsed Kristine Lytle in her bid to succeed Sue Dwyer as county clerk.

In the announcement, Aurelius Town Supervisor Edward Ide stated “as town supervisors we are focused on meeting the needs of our constituents.  We know that competent and experienced staff is the only way to do it.  We support Kristine Lytle for County Clerk because she best meets that criteria”

The Conservative candidate has worked under Dwyer for 16 years with the DMV.

She faces off against Democrat-backed Brian Scanlan and Republican Christ Petrus.

Lytle has also received the endorsement of CSEA Central Region 5, the union representing county employees, and the Cayuga County Town Highway Superintendents Association.

Scanlan has the endorsements of 1199SEIU, the union representing area healthcare workers, the city’s firefighters union, IAFF Local #1446, and Aurora mayor and former county treasurer Jim Orman.

Chris Petrus boasts the support of Sue Dwyer, the current county clerk.
