With just over a week before early voting begins, one candidate for Cayuga County Clerk has picked up another endorsement.
Kristine Lytle has announced she’s been endorsed by the Cayuga County Town Highway Superintendents Association. In its announcement, the association said Lytle is the strongest candidate with the most experience for the role.
She is running on the Conservative and Experience Matters lines in a three-way race against Republican Chris Petrus and Democrat-backed Brian Scanlan to succeed the retiring Sue Dwyer as the county’s next clerk.
Lytle, who is currently a member of the DMV Supervisory Team, has also received the endorsement of CSEA Central Region 5, the union representing county employees.
Last week, Chris Petrus received the support of Dwyer, a fellow Republican.
Scanlan is one of many area Democrat-backed candidates to receive the endorsements of 1199SEIU, the union representing area healthcare workers, and the city’s firefighters union, IAFF Local #1446.
Election day is Tuesday, November 7, and early voting begins Saturday, October 28.
