The City of Canandaigua will honor one of its most dedicated community leaders by proclaiming “July 16 as Ellen Polimeni Day” in recognition of her 50 years of service to the community.
The proclamation coincides with Polimeni’s 85th birthday and celebrates what city officials describe as a lifetime of leadership, mentorship, and commitment to improving the community.
A public celebration will be held Saturday at noon at the Commons Park Stage, on South Main Street. City officials, community leaders, family members, friends, and residents are expected to gather to recognize Polimeni’s contributions and lasting impact on Canandaigua.
City officials said the event will celebrate a woman whose vision, generosity, and decades of dedication have helped shape Canandaigua into what many proudly call the “Chosen Spot.”
The public is invited to attend the ceremony and join in recognizing Polimeni’s legacy of service to the community.
