A Bath man has been arrested following a child exploitation investigation that began with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The New York State Police arrested 32-year-old Daniel White on July 17 after an investigation conducted by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, State Police in Bath and the Troop E Computer Crimes Unit.
According to State Police, investigators received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in April 2024 regarding the online sharing of child sexual abuse material through a social media platform. The investigation led authorities to a residence in the Town of Bath.
On Feb. 25, 2025, investigators executed a search and seized multiple electronic devices for forensic examination. State Police said the devices were analyzed by the New York State Police Computer Forensics Laboratory, where investigators found approximately 1,555 images and videos of child sexual abuse material stored on several devices.
Following the investigation, White was taken into custody without incident.
He was charged with possession of a sexual performance by a child, a Class E felony.
White was processed at State Police in Bath before being transported to the Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment.
