A busy Auburn bridge is now officially closed for repairs.
Traffic on the Lake Avenue Bridge has been shut down so the city can make necessary repairs with the goal of extending the bridge’s life by 30 years. During the closure, drivers will need to cross the Owasco Outlet via the city’s downtown bridges or White Bridge Road in Owasco.
The bridge is expected to remain closed through August 2027.
The bridge repairs are part of the city’s larger 2026 construction plan for roadways across the city, including microsurfacing and crack sealing.
