A dog is safe after Auburn firefighters rescued it from beneath a Washington Street driveway Monday morning.
The Auburn Fire Department was called to the home around 8 a.m. after the dog entered a woodchuck hole under the driveway and became trapped.
Firefighters gained access through a crawl space beneath the house and located the dog approximately six feet under the driveway. Crews were able to bring the animal safely back to the surface.
The fire department said the dog was doing well after being reunited with its family.
