Canandaigua Man Suspected Of Violating Order Of Protection, Flees From Police

 

The Canandaigua Police Department reports the arrest of Even C. Barnum, 21, of Canandaigua after taking Canandaigua Police Officers on a foot chase through the dowtown area. Officers responded to 209 South Main Street for a possible order of protection violation involving Barnum and another person. On scene Barnum was observed by police while in the presence of the protected party. As police attempted interview Barnum pertaining to the violation, he fled on foot crossing Main Street where he was almost struck by a vehicle. After several minutes of chase, Barnum was taking into custody by police on the sidewalk near Eddie O'briens Bar and Grille. Barnum was charged with criminal contempt in the second degree, obstruction of governmental administration and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned and committed to the Ontario Co Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail. No injuries were sustained during the incident.
