On 11/3/12 at 7:14pm, Yates County Sheriff's Deputies responded along with Benton Fiore Department and Penn Yan Ambulance to a one car motorvehicle accident on Pre-Emption Road in Benton. The driver, 22-year old Zachary Sisson of Penn Yan was traveling northbound on Pre-Emption Road when he swerved to miss a deer in the roadway causing his vehicle to exit the road, strike a utility pole, and come to rest in a field. Sisson was checked over at the scene by Penn Yan Ambulance personnel and released.
