Ontario County Sheriffs Deputies responded to 7279 Gulick Road in the Town of Naples at 8:29 PM on 09/28/12 for the report of a family trouble. During their investigation within that residence, numerous marijuana plants were found to be growing along with drying marijuana that had already been harvested. The residents, 22-year old Tessa Smith and 24-year old Shane Hartman, were arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and unlawfully growing cannabis. Smith was issued an appearance ticket and Hartman was remanded to the Ontario County Jail for pre-arraignment detention. Both parties will appear before the Naples Town Court at a later date.
The endangering the welfare of a child charge is due to a four-year old residing in the home where the marijuana grow operation was.
