Don’t put away the umbrella just yet. A weak surface low tracking north into southern Ontario is keeping a persistent southeasterly flow locked in across the Finger Lakes, funneling Gulf and Atlantic moisture into the region through tonight. Expect periods of moderate to heavy rain to continue into the overnight hours, with lows settling in the upper 40s — near 46° in Canandaigua and Bath, closer to 48° in Watkins Glen and Penn Yan.
No frost concerns tonight; temperatures are simply too mild for that. No active NWS alerts cover our area, though a Wind Advisory remains in effect for Chautauqua County to the west through 2 AM.
The good news: Sunday brings meaningful improvement. The rain tapers as the system pushes northeast, and drier air moves in. Looking further ahead, Monday through Wednesday shapes up above normal and mostly sunny — a welcome stretch heading into the holiday week.
