Weather forecast for the Finger Lakes: Clear Skies Tonight Give Way to Wind and Rain by Midweek

A pleasant Sunday evening is winding down across the Finger Lakes, with temperatures sitting in the upper 50s under clear skies from Corning to Penn Yan. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 30s to low 40s — Penn Yan could dip close to 37°, so cover any tender plants before you turn in. No frost advisory is in effect, but valley gardens should still take note.

Monday looks to carry on the nice stretch before things shift. The real story arrives Monday night into Tuesday, when a Colorado low deepening over northern Ontario drags a warm front across the region. Rain showers are possible Monday night, with the better shower chances — 50 to 80% — arriving Tuesday. More notably, wind gusts could reach 45 mph Tuesday, particularly along the northern slopes of the Finger Lakes. The second half of the week stays cool and unsettled.
