The Rochester Red Wings have announced that the 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25 Hobart hockey teams will be inducted into the organization’s Walk of Fame as part of its 2026 class.
The three-time NCAA Division III national champion Statesmen will be honored as one of two “Teams of the Ages” before the Red Wings’ August 2 game against the Syracuse Mets at ESL Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
From 2023 through 2025, Hobart established one of the greatest dynasties in Division III men’s hockey history, winning three consecutive national championships while compiling an 86-3-2 overall record.
Under head coach Mark Taylor, the Statesmen became the first Division III men’s hockey program to capture three straight NCAA titles. Hobart also won three consecutive conference championships, posting a 50-4-2 record in New England Hockey Conference play.
During the three-year championship run, Hobart players earned eight All-America honors and 20 all-conference selections. Taylor was named the national coach of the year in both 2023 and 2024.
The Statesmen are the first Division III men’s hockey team to win three straight national championships since Middlebury accomplished the feat from 2004 through 2006.
The induction marks the first Hobart and William Smith team to be honored on the ESL Ballpark Walk of Fame. Six individuals with ties to Hobart and William Smith have previously been recognized: Aliceann Wilber, Lyle “Spike” Garnish, Dave Urick, Pat Genovese, Tracey Britton and Ernie Lisi.
The 2026 Walk of Fame class also includes 14 individual inductees and one Chairman’s Choice selection.
