New York State Police have identified the man who died Monday at the Pompey Rod & Gun Club as 52-year-old Daniel Ryan of Cazenovia.
Troopers responded to the club, located at 2035 Swift Road in the Town of Pompey, at approximately 11:45 a.m. on Monday for a report of an unresponsive person. According to State Police, Ryan was found with a gunshot wound after another club member heard a single gunshot, went to investigate and then called 911.
The Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and transported Ryan for a post-mortem examination.
State Police said the investigation remains ongoing. However, investigators say there are no signs of foul play at this time.
