On Sunday, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Ontario man following a traffic stop on Atlantic Avenue in the Town of Walworth.

Deputies arrested Angelo Maddalena, 38, for Driving While Intoxicated and Driving a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Drugs, along with several additional traffic violations. The arrest followed an investigation during the stop, where deputies reportedly detected the odor of burning marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Maddalena was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Ontario Sub-Station. While there, a Drug Recognition Expert conducted a specialized evaluation. Maddalena was later moved to the Sheriff’s Office for processing, fingerprints, and photos.

Maddalena was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to answer the charges in court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
