Macedon Man Arrested For Drunk Driving

A Town of Macedon man was arrested following a traffic stop in the Village of Palmyra on Thursday, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

On Thursday, deputies arrested Christopher Caffyn, 54, for Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher, and failure to stop at a steady red signal before making a right turn.

Deputies stopped Caffyn for a traffic infraction late Thursday evening. Upon further investigation, deputies determined he was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Caffyn was arrested and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where he voluntarily submitted to a chemical breath test that revealed his blood alcohol content was .16%.

Caffyn was released on appearance tickets. He is scheduled to appear in the Village of Palmyra Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
