A Canandaigua woman faces multiple charges, including criminal contempt and resisting arrest, after police responded to a 911 hang-up call late last month.
On Thursday, May 21, officers with the Canandaigua Police Department responded to Jefferson Avenue to investigate the dropped emergency call. Upon arrival, officers observed 34-year-old Shameika Brown standing near her residence with another individual. Investigators determined that the other person held an active stay-away order of protection against Brown.
While officers were attempting to place Brown under arrest for the protection order violation, she allegedly resisted and kicked the arresting officer.
Brown was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, resisting arrest, and second-degree harassment. Following her arrest, she was transported to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment.
