An Auburn man is facing charges after police say he violated an order of protection and attempted to evade officers during an investigation on Orchard Street.

According to the Auburn Police Department, officers were dispatched around 11 a.m. on Tuesday for a reported 911 hang-up. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who told police that Anthony Isgar had been inside the residence despite a full stay-away order of protection.

Investigators determined Isgar had fled the home as officers arrived. A perimeter was established, and officers later located him hiding on a nearby porch.

Police say Isgar was advised he was under arrest but resisted when officers attempted to take him into custody. He was ultimately subdued and taken into custody.

Isgar was transported to Auburn Police Department headquarters, where he was processed on charges of criminal contempt in the first degree, a felony, and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

He was later taken to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
