Young visitors learned about Harriet Tubman and her connection to Auburn during a special program at the New York State Equal Rights Heritage Center.
The event last Wednesday featured historical dress-up activities, hand painting and a group read-along focused on Tubman’s life and legacy.
Each child received a Harriet Tubman doll, an activity book and complimentary passes to the “Harriet: A Taste of Freedom” exhibition, allowing families to continue learning beyond the program.
The Equal Rights Heritage Center said additional events will be announced in the future.
