Hinrich was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Buick, 26-year-old Michael Eldridge of Hornell, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in each vehicle was airlifted to Strong for non-life-threatening injuries.

In addition to manslaughter, Eldridge was charged with two counts of assault, reckless endangerment and a single count of vehicular manslaughter.
