The Casey Park Pool will reopen this summer after the Auburn City Council approved a resolution accepting donations to fund lifeguard services and pool operations.

The council on Thursday voted to accept a $16,000 donation from the YMCA for lifeguard services and a $15,000 contribution from Wegmans, clearing the way for the pool to open for the 2026 season.

The YMCA thanked Mayor Jimmy Giannettino and members of the Auburn City Council for their unanimous support of the measure, saying the vote ensures the popular community resource will be available to residents this summer.

The pool is tentatively scheduled to open on July 10, and will operate for four weeks. Hours are expected to be 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Auburn YMCA CEO Scott Sincerbeaux said the organization strongly advocated for reopening the pool and helping ensure local families have access to safe water recreation.

“For decades, the Casey Park Pool has been a vital community resource, providing a safe and fun place for our residents,” Sincerbeaux said. “We are proud to support the city through the donation of lifeguards, and we are grateful to help secure the Wegmans grant to fund essential pool operations.”

YMCA officials said the reopening reflects the strength of community partnerships and a shared commitment to serving Auburn residents, particularly children and families looking for a place to cool off during the summer months.
