The Village of Watkins Glen is asking property owners whose trees were recently removed from village right-of-way areas if they would like replacement trees planted.
Village officials have distributed a notice to affected residents requesting feedback on whether they want a new tree installed near their property. Renters are being asked to share the information with their landlords.
Property owners interested in participating are being asked to select up to three preferred tree species from a list provided by the village. Officials said they will make every effort to accommodate residents’ preferences when replacement trees are planted.
To participate, residents must provide their name, property address, phone number, email address, and indicate whether they would like a replacement tree. Those requesting a tree should also list their first, second, and third choices from the approved tree list.
Completed forms must be returned to the Village Office no later than August 14.
Forms can be mailed or dropped off at the Village Office at 303 North Franklin Street, faxed to 607-535-7621, or emailed to [email protected].
Village officials are encouraging residents to submit their responses as soon as possible as the deadline approaches.
