A section of westbound Interstate 86 in Steuben County will close for several hours Sunday as part of a bridge project.

The New York State Department of Transportation said the highway will be closed near Exit 41 in Campbell from 6 a.m. until noon July 19.

Traffic will be directed off the highway using the Exit 41 off-ramp and then back onto I-86 using the Exit 41 on-ramp.

Motorists should expect delays and follow the posted detour. The work is weather-dependent and subject to change.

Drivers are reminded to slow down in work zones. Speeding fines are doubled, and two or more work-zone speeding convictions could result in a driver’s license suspension.
