Watkins Glen Promotions has launched a fundraising campaign to support the creation of the Laurie DeNardo Memorial at Clute Park in Watkins Glen.
The memorial will honor the life and legacy of Laurie DeNardo, who devoted years of service to the community as a village mayor, board member, volunteer, community leader, and advocate for the organizations and events that helped shape Watkins Glen. DeNardo passed away in March after a 10-month battle with cancer.
Organizers say the memorial will provide a permanent place for residents and visitors to reflect on and celebrate DeNardo’s contributions to the community.
Community members, friends, family, and others whose lives were touched by DeNardo are invited to contribute to the project.
Donations may be made by check payable to Watkins Glen Promotions and mailed to P.O. Box 332, Watkins Glen, NY 14891. Electronic donations can also be made through the organization’s Venmo account.
Organizers say every donation, regardless of size, will help create a lasting tribute to a woman whose dedication and service left a lasting impact on Watkins Glen.
