Tompkins Cortland Community College has appointed alumna and longtime nonprofit leader Kelly Tobin as its new chief advancement officer and executive director of the TC3 Foundation.

Tobin began the position this month after serving as executive director of the Cortland YWCA for more than a decade.

In her new role, Tobin will lead TC3’s alumni relations, fundraising and private philanthropy efforts. The money raised will support the college and its students.

TC3 President Amy Kremenek said Tobin brings extensive leadership experience and, as a graduate, understands the college’s impact on its students and the surrounding community.

Tobin graduated from TC3 in 2001 and received the college’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2019. She was also presented with the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award for Civic Contribution by the New York Community College Trustees.

She serves on the boards of the Seven Valleys Health Coalition, JM Murray and the Cortland Area Chamber of Commerce.

Tobin said the appointment is especially meaningful because she and her daughter are both TC3 graduates. She said she looks forward to developing relationships with alumni, donors, students and community partners to expand access to education and help students succeed.

Founded in 1978, the TC3 Foundation raises money to expand learning opportunities and provide support for students.
