The Geneva City School District has selected a familiar face to lead North Street School.
Julie Ricciuto, who has served as the school’s assistant principal since January 2023, has been appointed principal. She succeeds Heather Eysaman, who recently left the district to pursue other professional opportunities.
Superintendent Bo Wright said Ricciuto’s experience at the school and strong connections with the North Street community made her the ideal choice for the position.
“I attended North Street School, so that building holds a special place in my heart,” Wright said. “Julie has been an outstanding addition to our leadership team over the past two and a half years. She knows North Street School, has built strong relationships with students, staff, and families, and has already played an important role in the school’s steady improvement. Her appointment provides important continuity as North Street prepares for the new school year, and I am confident she is the right person to lead the school moving forward.”
Ricciuto said she is honored to continue serving the North Street community in her new role.
“North Street School is a special place, and I am honored to have the opportunity to serve this community as principal,” she said. “I look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families while supporting a school culture where every child feels valued, challenged, and supported.”
Before joining the Geneva City School District, Ricciuto served as an assistant principal in the Rochester City School District after spending several years as an elementary classroom teacher.
Since arriving at North Street School, she has helped strengthen instructional systems, supported the school’s Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), promoted restorative practices, and worked closely with students, staff, and families to improve student outcomes.
Ricciuto earned bachelor’s degrees in childhood education and special education, along with a master’s degree in literacy education, from St. John Fisher College. She also holds a certificate in educational leadership from the University of Rochester and is certified by New York State as a School Building Leader.
