A young osprey is being treated at a local raptor center after it was found unable to fly in Seneca Falls.
Concerned residents contacted the Seneca Falls Police Department Sunday morning after spotting the bird at Liberty Plaza. Sergeant Kidd responded and safely transported the osprey to the rehabilitation facility.
Raptor Center staff told police they are hopeful the bird will recover.
It marked the second time in one week that Kidd helped an osprey in distress. Earlier in the week, she volunteered while off duty to assist another injured young osprey.
The Police Department thanked the residents who reported the bird and Kidd for her efforts to protect wildlife in the community.
